Hiking in Oman – Snake Canyon, Wadi Bani Awf

Hiking in Oman – Snake Canyon, Wadi Bani Awf

Snake Canyon – jumps, slides, abseils & swims

Snake Canyon is a narrow canyon in Oman’s Wadi Bani Awf. It’s a fun, wet half-day to get through it, with a series of  jumps and swims, some abseiling and a bit of walking at the end. There’s a huge jump near the beginning, but you can scramble around if it’s too high (like Kai and I did).

Even with the Oman heat, it’s a little chilly in places. You definitely need a guide if you want to do the jumps as they know how to judge water depth.

I’ll write up a full hike description soon, but in the meantime check out our video!
